The proposal would see students from local schools bus to TRU for a morning laboratory of 3 hours duration. The laboratory would be a typical university lab, complete with a pre-lab exercise, lab task, lab report and assigned grade. We would wrap up the event with pizza for lunch. For this particular proposal, students would participate in an astronomy lab on crater formation. Students will complete a hands-on activity studying crater formation as a function of energy, then complete a short study of craters on the moon, measuring the distribution of size of moon craters, creating distribution histograms.
